Council sourceThe proposal seeks to install two pipelines and four circular pens to store fresh water. One pipeline of 252.8m will run from Loch Cuilce to the fresh water storage pens and a second one of 354.5m will run from Loch Sgapal to the existing Caolas Fish Farm. This pipeline consists on a 90mm diameter pipe from each abstraction point at both lochs, running down to the mean low water springs (MLWS) contour. At this stage, both pipelines will be submerged to the seabed level and run to the proposed storage pens and to the existing pen equipment at the farm in Caolas Loch Portain.
