Council planning record

Eight willows in a line adjacent to the 16th Green and greenkeepers' yard. Approx opposite no 51 Heath Drive. Trees are becoming too large for their position and having consulted our tree surgeon the recommends to pollard to bring back to a manageable size. Similar sized willows elsewhere on site recently had limb failure these were not positioned as close to foot traffic as the trees for which the application is being made. Pollarding would clearly mitigate potential H&S risk. The trees create season long problems for turf maintenance in the area - clearing leaves, catkins and twigs. The excessive use of leaf blowers on busy weekend mornings causes a disturbance to neighbours and we try to balance this with the requirements of preparing the course for play.
