We would like to remove the cherry tree (Prunus cerasifera Nigra) in the photos and plan. It is self-seeded and is sparse, leaning and struggling in a raised bed up against the back fence of the garden. We would like to remove it, decompact and improve the soil and plant 3 trees such as Ilex aquifolium Nellie Stevens with underplanting as part of improvements to the rear of the garden which is currently largely barren and unused. We are seeking permission as we are in a conservation area - the tree does not have a protection order.
