We would like to remove the Cordyline australis in the front garden of 56 Avenue Road. We feel the tree, with its spiky leaves, is a harsh and alien presence in the garden and out of character with the building/garden and its neighbours. We would like to replace it with a more feathery, lighter canopied tree such as an Acacia dealbata, which will be happy in the sunny, sheltered position and which is also equally tolerant of the restricted rootspace and dry conditions. Given the planter is relatively small - 600mm wide - the replacement tree would be proposed to be approx 2m ht initially and be 25L pot.
