Council sourceHolm oak (Quercus ilex) tree - back left corner of the garden. Approx 10metres tall Affected badly with oak leaf miners otherwise tree is in good health other than large amounts of deadwood. Proposed work - check for any active nests or habitats within the crown -remove all dead wood throughout the crown -light reduction on the radius of the tree (roughly 0.75m-1.25m) -thin the tree as necessary to allow more airflow through the tree, allow more light through the tree and remove any overlapping or rubbing branches We plan to do the work using a handsaw everywhere possible, to ensure clean cuts to minimise risk of infection. There are also 2 coniferous trees in the garden which we propose to remove deadwood and colliding branches, to again increase airflow.
