Hornbeam - Reduce height and circumference. The tree currently stands taller than our house which is, approximately, 13 meters high, the approximate height of the tree stands around 15 to 16 meters. (please see attached photograph). At its widest point (the middle and lower branches) it spans approximately 14 meters. If the requested reduction was granted then the tree would have a final height of approximately 12.5 meters and a final, maximum, span of just under 12 meters. We would therefore request a 40% crown reduction, taking approximately a 16% reduction from the widest and tallest branches with the smaller branches having less of a reduction to ensure the tree holds its shape but moves away from our house and boundary fences.

I would like to carry out a crown lift on this mature willow tree growing on private land and to the side of the public footpath and adjacent to 25 Lambourn Place, Lambourn. The branches currently hang to around 1.5m over the footpath and the intention is to crown lift the branches to 2.5m over the footpath. In addition there is a partially broken and partially hanging branch within the low crown of the tree and I will instruct the contractor to prune this off, leaving arisings on site, in order to mitigate the risk to the public. The tree icon is 0JUY.

2x Limes: Crown reduction of 1.5-2m and removal of epicormic growth. From 20.32m to 18.05m height1x Copper Beech: Crown reduction of 1.5-2m, more on the side of the crown than the top of the crown as we will to keep the copper beech to the same height as it is, with the limes reduced to the same height or slightly lower for the growth to fill up to the same height as the copper beech, with limes having a faster growth rate than the copper beech. From 19.82m -18.05m in heightAll three trees to have a radial distance of 20.32m to 18.05m width. A rough radial reduction of 8.5-10.5% of all three trees to be removed back to growth points.2x Whitebeams: Crown lift 5.2m above roadside and removal of epicormic growth up to crown break. Future plans to crown reduce as trees are outgrowing the space they're in, with power cables and telephone lines running through the tree. Potential structural damage of the wall surrounding the property

The silver birch is approx 15m tall. The top 50% is dead including the main trunk. The tree has been crowded out and starved of water and light for some years. The single remaining main live branch grows out north-west at an angle. This is now growing over the end of the driveway so presents a future risk to people/cars below. We have consulted an arborist/surgeon (James at Higgins Tree and Land Management). He previously did a fantastic job on a nearby yew on same boundary. He recommends removal of birch. Reduction work has already been applied for adjacent Yew which in on next door property, 48B High Street. (T1 on plan: application no: 26/02074/TPC refers.) This tree is currently causing overall light deprivation to all nearby trees as well as cottage. The adjacent trees (copper beech, beech, hornbeam) were planted as a mixed hedge by looks of it when houses built and were not tended when young so have now all outgrown their space.

The proposed works involve replacing the fixed window above the entrance door with an Automatic Opening Vent (AOV).This is required to address a fire safety issue identified in a recent Fire Risk Assessment and supported by Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service. The AOV will open automatically in the event of a fire to help remove smoke from the escape route. The existing opening will be kept, with no changes to the building structure. The new window will closely match the existing window in appearance. The works are limited to improving fire safety while minimising any impact on the character of the listed building.
